About TGDirectoryHow Channel Reviews Work at TGDirectory

Every channel, group or bot submitted to TGDirectory is reviewed by a person before it appears on the site. Listing is free. Illegal, pornographic and scam channels are not accepted.

This guide explains what the review is for, what it does and does not mean, and how to make a submission easy to understand.

The basics

Here are the facts that shape the whole process:

  • Listing is free. You can submit a channel, group or bot without paying.
  • A person reviews every submission. Nothing goes live automatically.
  • Some content is never accepted. Illegal, pornographic and scam channels are refused.
  • Readers can report listings. If something problematic is already live, a report sends it to moderators.

You can start from the submit a channel page.

Why a person reviews every listing

A directory is only useful if readers can trust what they find in it. An automatic system that published anything submitted would quickly fill up with scams and content most readers do not want to stumble into.

Having a person look at every submission before it appears is the simplest way to keep those out. It also means nobody can get a listing published just by sending a link.

What is not accepted

Three kinds of channels are not accepted:

Illegal channels

Channels that exist to share or sell illegal content or services are refused. This includes channels built around pirated material.

Pornographic channels

Adult and pornographic channels are not accepted, whatever their size.

Scam channels

Channels set up to take people's money or details under false pretences are refused. If you want to learn the common patterns, read how to spot Telegram scams.

What a review does not mean

It is worth being precise about what passing review tells a reader.

  • It is not an endorsement. A published listing is one we were willing to list. It is not a recommendation of every post.
  • It is not a claim of ownership. Submitting a channel does not make you its verified owner. Owners prove control separately, through the claim process on the channel's page.
  • It does not set the statistics. Figures on the channel page are read from the public posts Telegram shows on the channel's web preview, not supplied by the submitter or the reviewer.
  • It does not affect rankings. "Best Telegram Channels" ranks by real subscriber count, and "Top rated" ranks by reader ratings.

How to prepare a submission

We do not publish a scoring checklist for reviews. Still, a reviewer has to understand what your channel is, and a few simple steps help any reader do that.

  1. Check the link. Open the link you plan to submit and make sure it leads to the right channel, group or bot.
  2. Make the channel's purpose clear inside Telegram. A short, honest description helps reviewers and future readers alike. See how to write a Telegram channel description.
  3. Have some real posts. A channel with visible content is easier to understand than an empty one.
  4. Describe the channel honestly in your submission. Say what it covers, in plain words.
  5. Keep it within the rules. If the channel contains illegal, pornographic or scam content, it will not be accepted.
  6. Submit. Use the submit a channel page.

Featured placements and review

When you submit, you can also buy a Featured placement. This is a paid, clearly labelled spot in the homepage featured rotation. You can pay with crypto on the website or with Telegram Stars in our Telegram Mini App.

Two points matter here:

  • Paying does not skip review. The channel is still reviewed like any other.
  • If the channel is not published, the placement is refunded.

A Featured placement also never changes rankings. It buys a labelled spot on the homepage, not a higher position in a ranked list.

After a listing is published

The channel page

A published listing gets a channel page. It shows measured figures such as subscribers, average and median views per post, engagement rate, posts per week and when the channel last posted. A growth chart appears once enough real daily subscriber counts exist. Any figure that cannot be measured is simply not shown.

Claiming the listing

If you run the channel, you can claim the listing from the "Is this your channel?" panel on its page. You prove control by adding our bot as an admin, and the site checks with Telegram. A successful claim adds an Owner verified badge. The steps are in how to claim your channel and get the Owner verified badge.

Ratings and reports

Readers can rate the listing, one rating per account. An average shows once there are at least three ratings. Readers can also report a listing to moderators if they think something is wrong.

Review is one layer, not the only one

A review happens once, before a listing appears. Channels change after that. That is why readers can report a listing at any time, and why reading a channel's recent posts yourself is still worthwhile.

Using reviewed listings as a reader

Because every listing passed a person's review, browsing the directory is a calmer starting point than searching at random. A few habits help:

  1. Browse by topic. The categories page groups listings so you can find channels in one area.
  2. Check the measured figures. The last post date and median views tell you whether a channel is active and read.
  3. Open the channel before you commit. Read a few posts in Telegram.
  4. Report anything that breaks the rules. Moderators can only act on what they know about.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting a listing to appear instantly. Every submission is reviewed by a person first.
  • Thinking a paid placement skips review. It does not. If the channel is not published, the placement is refunded.
  • Treating a published listing as an endorsement. It means the channel was accepted, not that every post is recommended.
  • Confusing submitting with owning. Ownership is shown only after a successful claim.
  • Submitting a broken or wrong link. Check it opens the right channel first.
  • Submitting content that is never accepted. Illegal, pornographic and scam channels are refused.

FAQ

Does it cost anything to list a channel?

No. Listing a channel, group or bot is free. A Featured placement is an optional paid extra.

Can I submit a group or a bot, not just a channel?

Yes. TGDirectory lists channels, groups and bots, and each submission is reviewed by a person.

Does buying a Featured placement guarantee my channel is published?

No. The channel is reviewed like any other. If it is not published, the placement is refunded.

Does passing review mean TGDirectory recommends the channel?

No. It means the channel was accepted for listing. It is not an endorsement of its content.

What can I do if I find a scam channel listed?

Report the listing to moderators from its page. Scam channels are not accepted.

Summary

Listing on TGDirectory is free, and every submission is reviewed by a person before it appears. Illegal, pornographic and scam channels are not accepted. Passing review means a channel was accepted, not endorsed, and it does not change rankings or statistics. A Featured placement can be bought at submission but never skips review, and it is refunded if the channel is not published. When you are ready, submit your channel.
